Wow another exciting week goes by. Luna is still growing as you all can well imagine. Part of the excitement this week came in the form of Luna's Rabies Shot. This shot in an infant Wolfhound effects the entire pack. The alpha male, alpha female and our tea cup Wolfhound Pixie all managed to loose some sleep. Luna's already weak stomach went into overdrive for the forty-eight hours following the shot. Lucky our pack mother did some research and determined a menu of ground turkey and sweet potato would get Luna back to normal. And she was right on the money. One diet change and our Luna is back to her normal over playful self.

Last weekend the Pack went to Long Sault for the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Dog Show. Although we were beat out by Luna's sister Neala it was still a fantastic day. As you can all tell Luna is the gorgeous one bringing up the rear. Several of Luna's family were in attendance. The Star of the show was Coco who became a champion on the weekend and McTire who also gained points towards his title.

I have to say that since adopting Luna we have met a great group of dog people. Everyone from in the circle of friends around kaldaun Irish Wolfhounds. Everyone has been helpful, offering excellent advice and suggestions on how to best bring up Luna. Sue and i appreciate it immensely and hope to continue  to grow the relationship.

Woke up this morning all excited and ready to go. All week we have been waiting for today. The STORMONT, DUNDAS & GLENGARRY DOG ASSOCIATION dog show in Long Sault.
But a brief history, last week in Brockville our little Luna won Best Baby Puppy in group. I was beaming, 'the birth of a Westminster champion' right in front of my eyes. It didn't help that two weeks  before everyone told us that we should show Luna. She had excellent lines and wonderful colouring. And we thought we were buying a companion/friend oh yeah a pet.
Up at 5 am, dogs outside, make them breakfast and a quick brush. Humans get ready too but one at a time. Pick up our friend Don at 7 am and off we go. Don is our ace in the whole. Years of experience with dog shows when he was showing his own Dalmatian "Lacy". As in the last three times we have gone south for a dog event, the inevitable encounter with Luna's sister Neala AKA" Alf". This leads to a 90 minute dog roughhousing session between the two. Minutes before the two are supposed to go on, frantic brushing ensues in an attempt to make them partially presentable again. I ended up a little disappointed as Luna had some problems running on her second pass around. She just couldn't seem to get her hind legs to get up and go. So she came second. We still think she is a champion.

Luna the amazing growing Wolfhound. Although my wife and i did do fairly extensive research on the breed. We wanted to make sure Luna would fit into our way of life and our house. We are still impressed with Luna's five pound a week weight gain. In the two and a half months we have had

Luna she has more then doubled in size and weight.

We spent a day in Kingston with Kyreen Shorey and some of the other breeders that she knows. All thought Luna had potential to be shown. Well, we decided to give it a try and lo and behold Luna is a natural. She one three ribbons including best baby puppy in group.

Tomorrow Luna get's another chance to shine in Long Sault.
On April 3rd 2016 our Luna was born in Kingston, Ontario.
A cute blue eye brindle. After meeting her for the first time we had to leave on a preplanned holiday. As you can imagine all we could think about was our soon to be new family member. Although my face isn't the most lovable, undeniably Luna can turn heads. Although she looks like quite the vicious little thing below, in real life she is a typical loving Wolfhound.
